Woking Means Business Exhibition

Marketing For Growth

HG Wells Conference & Events Centre

Wednesday 17th October 2007

‘We had a wonderful exhibition’

The 2007 Woking Means Business exhibition took place at the HG Wells Conference & Events Centre in Woking on Wednesday 17th October. The event lived up to expectations, looking impressive and attracting an attendance of committed buyers and decision makers.

The Mayor of Woking, Cllr Bryan Cross, accompanied by the Mayoress, Chamber president Alan Jordan and Eagle Radio’s Peter Gorden, opened the show at 11.00am, The Mayor not only stayed longer than expected but returned later in the day to spend more time talking to the exhibitors.

Late entry exhibitor, Fruitdrop Ltd, based in London and keen to develop their business of delivering fruit to companies in different towns around the South East was delighted with the event. Marketing Manager Lisa Smith emailed to say ‘Well done for yesterday! We had a great day with lots of positive and genuine interest.’

Local solicitors Morrisons said ‘How do we get a larger corner stand next year?’ while companies as diverse and specialised as Sureline Coaches, Douglas Duff chartered surveyors, Crown Bio Technology, Axis Accounting & Training and MB Web Services all expressed their satisfaction, saying that they had obtained a number of very positive leads.

The seminar speakers were all up to the usual high standard adding to the main purpose of the event - to help local companies find the advice, information, products and services they need to develop and grow.

Sue Granville, Executive Director of Woking Chamber of Trade & Commerce, the event promoters, said ‘We were delighted with the show. We have already signed up nine new members and we took many more leads. Woking Means Business is our flagship event. It forms an important part of our plan to provide an environment in which our members can forge closer links and develop their business with other local companies.’

Exhibitor Feedback

We took away about 40 good leads, so are pleased with our day.
Jo Dench, Business Link

Congratulations on another successful Woking Means Business exhibition.

We generated about a dozen leads from the day and will be following up on these over the coming weeks. We had a great number of compliments about our stand and how visually striking it was and I'm so happy with the event that I'd like to book the same spot for next year’s exhibition.
Steve Redden, 3 Wise Internet Solutions

The visitors this year were much more focused, and those who approached the stand were more aware of what they were looking for rather than window-shopping. I came away with some good leads and also did some useful networking.
Mike Booker, MB Web Services

The visitors seemed far more focused and seriously interested than last year. I took some very good leads. This was our third show and it was definitely the best so far.
John Hines, Ezie Publishing

This was our first time of exhibiting at "Woking Means Business" although we have exhibited at several other similar events over the course of the last few years. Our stand was probably one of the busiest at the show, with a constant stream of visitors. We found it to be a very useful event, which generated a lot of very worthwhile leads for us. We would certainly recommend local businesses attending future events.
Neal Ball, Leaders

This was our first time exhibiting at the Woking Means Business exhibition and we were very pleased with the results. We made some excellent connections. Thank you.
Richard Knight, St James's Place Partnership

Well done for yesterday ! - we had a great day with a lot of positive and genuine interest. I’m so glad we were able to jump in at the last minute.
Lisa Smith, Fruitdrop Limited

I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity of exhibiting at Woking Means Business. The day was packed with lots of positive energy and the constant buzz of business chatter….with some of those conversations already converted into potential revenue and viable synergies for the future. A big thumbs up on all counts from
Caroline Slater, Inspired Seasons Ltd.

We had a wonderful exhibition and we were delighted to be mentioned in the Woking Informer last week. Thank you so much for helping the GWCH to be part of this event.
